1.                  Job Purpose

·         Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

 

2.                  Key Result Area

·         Maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipments.

3.                  Key Responsibilities

·         Create, load, examine and modify CNC programme’s

·         Preplanned setting, loading, clamping & unloading materials onto CNC machine.

·         Machining by studying drawings & specifications, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.

·         Programs on machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.

·         To verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance for the specifications by using precision measuring instruments.

·         Jobs should be completed within quality and estimated Hrs.

·         Processes, re-programming controls to ensure that everything is in order, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

·         Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and proper cutting tool selection.

·         Maintaining daily production report, route cards & internal inspection report.

 

·         Machine should be utilized maximum. Ensure that all CNC machines are lubricated properly before each processes initiation

1.                  Qualification and Experience

      The candidate should be an

·         DIPLOMA/ITI/NCTVT/CNC programming/ machinist course from a recognized institute with around 5-7yrs experience in any engineering industry

·         Knowledge of AUTOCAD/CAM , Programming knowledge of 2D/3D is a must.

·         SIEMENS/ HEIDENHAIN Control and CAM operating experience desirable.

 

2.                  Technical Competencies

·         Knowledge on reading an engineering drawing, cutting tools and parameters.

·         Knowledge on CNC programming in ISO Standard.

·         Knowledge in using a wide variety of measuring instruments.

·         Knowledge on AUTOCAD/CAM/ SIEMENS/ HEIDENHAIN.

 

·         Verbal Communication Skills.

·         Plan, lead, and deliver on key engineering that enables achievement of operational excellence and supports growth objectives of the organization. 

·         A graduate Engineer to lead a group of draughtsman, to plan and complete the engineering activities in time.    

2.                  Key Result Area

·         Development of new design engineering

·         Ensure timely completion of engineering

 

3.                  Key Responsibilities

·         Control a group of draughtsman.

·         Preparation of Drawings, BOMs, checking drawings, and ensure correctness of the documents prepared.

·         Preparation of models using 3D software’s like Autodesk Inventor.

·         Generating P & ID, Data Sheets as per the requirement.

·         Making Design calculations.

·         Selection of bought out components

·         Co-ordination with other departments.

·         Communication with customer, participation in technical discussions with customer

·         Co-ordination with manufacturing for discrepancies and deviations

·         Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.

·         Design effective, cost-efficient and innovative engineering solutions to meet client needs.

·         Assure that product is designed for specific needs, but with wider applications in mind.

·         Ensure to meet scheduled commitments.

·         Identify and prioritize scope specific initiatives.

 

 

4.                  Interdependencies / Interactions

4.1 Internal

·         At Project –

Coordinate with purchase/project department for requirements related to projects.

·         At Plants –

Coordinate with plants for manufacturing, inspection, for any engineering discrepancies and deviations related to project.

4.2  External

Coordinate with clients for engineering requirements and update them on progress of projects.

5.                  Qualification and Experience

     

The candidate should be an

·         Engineering Graduate in Mechanical /Industrial / Production from a reputed university.

·         Minimum 7 to 8  years of experience in Design and Engineering in the field of Steel Strip processing lines like Cold Rolling mills, Skin pass mills, CGL, CCL, Pickling lines, ARP, ECL, etc, of Terminal equipments, Furnaces & Ovens.

·         Fluency in thermal calculation and thermal design of equipments.

·         Good knowledge of engineering drawings, 3D modeling

·         Must have through experience in Auto CAD, Autodesk Inventor / Solid Works

·         Knowledge of Ansys / FEA will be an added advantage

·         Possess good communication skills.

 

6.                  Competencies

 

·         Thorough knowledge of drawings

·         Good knowledge of process equipment related to Mechanical / Hydraulic / thermal system.

 

·         Process knowledge of Strip processing lines, galvanizing, Pickling, ARP & Rolling Mill will be preferred.
